or EKG
An electrocardiogram, ECG or EKG, for the German Elektrokardiogramm is a
graphic recording from the body surface of electric current produced by
the heart. It is used as a means of studying and diagnosing diseases and
problems related to the
heart muscle.
Uses of the ECG:
The main use of the ECG is in the determination of the hearts
performance. The ECG can detect such abnormalities as cardiac
arrhythmia, acute or previous heart attacks, or angina. Another uses of
the ECG are in the detection of blockages in the heart and or bundle
branch, as a screening tool for arrhythmia during an exercise tolerance
test. As well as provide vital information about the physical condition
of the heart.
